Health Economics course

A brand new bespoke course for PrescQIPP subscribers on the theory and application of health economics. Through four one hour virtual sessions, participants will learn about the fundamentals of health economics and how modelling can be used to forecast the impact of treatment pathways and interventions, inform commissioning decisions, and build an effective business case.

 

The course is hosted by PrescQIPP and produced and delivered by Boehringer Ingelheim. The content of the course is non-promotional, and the models and business case have no relation to therapeutic areas in which Boehringer Ingelheim has a commercial interest. Sessions

Introduction to health economics

The first session focuses on the fundamentals of health economics, introducing the key concepts around the theory.

The third session will turn to the practical application of health economics, and the use of modelling to inform decision making and develop a business case.

Critical evaulation of a health economics business case

In the fourth and final session of the course, a business case based on health economics modelling will be reviewed and critically appraised.
