Visual analytics are the newest addition to the bank of tools and resources to support you in your day to day work. They bring prescribing data to life and enable you to manipulate, interrogate and report on huge sets with incredible speed.

In these three short sessions, Liam Cahill introduces the functionality provided by the new system, how to use it and what you can expect to see in the future.

Bulletin 177 Antimicrobial stewardship Launched

This bulletin summarises the resources that are available to support commissioners with their antimicrobial stewardship work. Links are provided to useful resources and an audit and GP support guides are available as implementation tools.

Bulletin 190 Polypharmacy - Multimorbidity Launched

This bulletin reviews the evidence around multimorbidity and polypharmacy. It supports the implementation of NICE guideline NG56. A template individualised patient management plan is included as a supporting implementation resource.

Bulletin 195 Launched - Doxazosin MR (DROP-List)

This bulletin supports the review of  doxazosin MR prescribing and supports a switch to the immediate release formulation in line with the NHS England "Items which should not routinely be prescribed in primary care" guidance.

Bulletin 194 Launched - Co-proxamol (DROP-List)

This bulletin discusses the use of co-proxamol and supports reviewing and discontinuing prescribing in patients still taking this unlicensed medicine. It supports the implementation of the NHS England items which should not routinely be prescribed in primary care guidance.

Care homes 2 training slidesets now available to PrescQIPP subscribers

The second set of care homes training slidesets and talk notes are now available on the following topics: 

  • Refused and omitted doses
  • Covert administration
  • Controlled drugs
  • Bulk prescribing

  • Waste reduction

These slides are designed for teams that want to deliver face to face training to care home staff, and can be complemented by our CPD accredited Medicines use in care homes 2 e-learning course which can be accessed on our e-learning hub either as a commissioned tool or a pay per use resource.
