How well do GPs understand the benefits and harms of treatments for long term conditions?

On 1st February, 1-2pm, we welcome Julian Treadwell who is a GP and researcher with an interest in prescribing and polypharmacy.

His research has shown that GPs (as with most other doctors) have low confidence and understanding about the actual size or benefits and risks of harms for common treatments.

He is developing a new web-based information resource to help with this. He will present some research findings and then there will be time for discussion, including exploring the role of pharmacists.

The presentation will be followed by a Q & A session.
