Carol founded PrescQIPP in 2010 when she was appointed as the Strategic Health Authority (SHA) Pharmacy and Prescribing lead and PrescQIPP was one of the SHA QIPP workstreams. Carol has led the development since its inception and in 2016 Carol became the CEO for PrescQIPP when it became a not for profit Community Interest Company. 

Carol represents PrescQIPP at a national level and is a member of several significant groups such as the Regional Medicines Optimisation Committee - Medicines Optimisation Prioritisation Panel, Low Priority Prescribing Clinical Working Group, NHS Clinical Commissioners Medicines Task Group, Prescribing Advisors Group (PAG), Public Health England Prescribed medicines review data group and Overprescribing subgroups. Within PrescQIPP she provides the final sign off on all evidence-based documents and resources and leads on high cost medicines, e-learning and the East of England Plus programme.

Previously in April 2013 Carol was appointed as the Director of Medicines Optimisation for the Eastern AHSN, the Assistant Director of Clinical Strategy and CD Accountable Officer for NHS England East and in April 2015 the Head of Governance for NHS England East following her role as Head of Medicines Management for numerous PCTs

In 2014 the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain awarded Carol a fellowship and in 2018 she was invited to join the NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur programme. 

Sajida heads up the Clinical team and is responsible for the development and delivery of the primary care work plan, working closely with commissioners in the PrescQIPP community to ensure that it meets their needs. She has extensive clinical experience and joined PrescQIPP as the Primary Care Lead in April 2013, after working with the programme as a Senior Pharmacist leading on respiratory projects, and substantively as the Deputy Head of Medicines Management at Bedfordshire CCG. 

Katie is responsible for quality assuring all the PrescQIPP resources before publication (including the Priorities Advisory Committee documents), preparing clinical evidence reviews for the Primary Care Rebates, and occasionally writing bulletins for the programme including the polypharmacy and deprescribing resource IMPACT.

Katie has 20 years experience as a Medicines Information pharmacist and was previously the Director of the East Anglia Medicines Information Service. She has worked closely with PrescQIPP since its inception in 2010 and joined the team substantively in April 2018.

Kevan was an experienced and well respected Medicines Procurement Specialist Pharmacist, working for East and South East Specialist Pharmacy Services, now retired. Kevan was one of the original drivers in the establishment of PrescQIPP and is a long standing supporter. In addition to acting as a non-executive director, Kevan chairs the Pharmaceutical Industry Scheme Governance Review Board.

Carole is a qualified accountant gaining both finance and commercial experience from a wide variety of business entities, Corporate, Mid-Tier, SME’s, Entrepreneurial and Family owned business as well as Charity and Social Enterprise.

In recent years, Carole has become involved in projects involving healthcare, social enterprise and spin outs from the NHS and Local Authorities. With over 25 years’ Executive board experience is now applying that experience in Non-executive roles both within Healthcare, Spin-outs and Social Enterprise.

Julie has an extensive background as a senior leader in the NHS for over 40 years, working at Chief Executive and Director level for 20 of those years across Health Authorities, PCGs and PCTs.

In 2012 she led the creation of NHS Clinical Commissioners and became its founding Chief Executive, until she retired from that role in June 2020. Through that role she developed robust working relationships across the ‘top of the office’ of the NHS, the DHSC, and many other national organisations that clinical commissioners need to work with, always ensuring that NHSCC was always member led and member driven.

Throughout her career Julie has had a keen interest in medicines optimisation issues and led the NHSCC medicines portfolio, working hard to deliver on a whole range of medicines related issues on behalf of CCG members.

She has a Masters in Health Policy and Management and has always been passionate about using her roles to be able to support improved health outcomes and experience for patients, and populations either directly or indirectly. Julie now therefore wants to use her experience in a range of roles including working as a non-executive, both locally and nationally to continue to support improved healthcare.

Angela leads on and manages engagements across the organisation, as well as supporting the PrescQIPP Helpdesk.

Prior to joining PrescQIPP, Angela worked at NHSE within the Medical Directorate as a project officer project managing performance.

Jo is responsible for leading the work of the East of England Priorities advisory committee (PAC), and supports the PrescQIPP secondary care work stream and other medicines optimisation projects within the team. She has over 20 years experience in managerial and clinical roles across a range of settings including acute secondary care, mental health and community hospitals.

Karen is responsible for supporting the delivery of the primary care work plan alongside Sajida. She is the lead for the PrescQIPP Champions and the PrescQIPP Annual Awards, as well as the operational lead for the Pharmaceutical Industry Scheme Governance Review Board.

Karen has extensive clinical and managerial experience working in Primary and Secondary Care. She has also worked at a Regional level, for the Pharmaceutical Industry, held a senior position in the National Pharmacy Association and worked abroad in the USA.

Kate responsibilities include communications, stakeholder engagement and e-learning. Before joining PrescQIPP in 2015 to assist with the incorporation of the Community Interest Company, Kate worked for many years in equality and diversity and corporate responsibility.

Kirsty coordinates a wide portfolio of projects including the development of e-learning and the primary care rebates process, in addition to supporting the design and production of resources and troubleshooting from the PrescQIPP helpdesk.

Lindsay joined PrescQIPP in October 2014, to lead primarily on skincare and woundcare projects. She has a background in both primary and secondary care having previously held roles as a practice pharmacist with a CCG and a pharmacist at a Regional Medicines Information Centre.

Martin has a background in content development and assists in the design and production of e-learning courses, in addition to providing user support from the PrescQIPP helpdesk.

Michelle is responsible for finance, the quality assurance process for resource development, including stakeholder consultation and design. She also oversees the quality management system. As Company Secretary Michelle is responsible, with the Chair, for governance aspects of the Council of Members and the PrescQIPP board.

Nathan is responsible for the quality assurance of our resources and assists with finance, particularly invoicing.

Nathan’s background is in science and administration and prior to joining PrescQIPP spent five years helping the NHS to update its administration procedures.

Rachel leads in the provision of all analytical reporting, advising and supporting the community prescribing data analyst. She heads up development of new innovative analytical delivery for subscribers, including planning, designing and reporting on strategic delivery of work programmes within the analytics division. Rachel has worked with PrescQIPP since 2012, joining full time in June 2013 following working with Suffolk PCT then subsequent CCGs.

Steve joined PrescQIPP to lead the Practice Plus Virtual Professional Network for pharmacy professionals.

He has worked within the NHS, as a clinical pharmacist, specialising in holistic care for thirty years including nine as a consultant pharmacist in medicine & medication safety.

Steve currently leads a medicines optimisation team across a large urban Primary Care Network (PCN) in Bournemouth.

He understands the value of academia and has sixteen years of university teaching experience and completed an MPhil at the University of Manchester.

Sue leads on education and specifically on the development and delivery of the PrescQIPP e-learning programs.  Sue joined PrescQIPP in 2016 having been Head of Medicines Management for the Northamptonshire CCGs and previous PCT for 9 years.  She is also a NICE Medicines and Prescribing Associate and was an accredited therapeutics trainer for the former National Prescribing Centre.

Tania works closely with and under the supervision of the Head of Analytics, taking the lead in ensuring all areas essential to prescribing data are accurate and up to date - Downloading and updating prescribing data regularly along with all other data sources connected to it. As well as this, Tania liaises with our commissioner colleagues and other NHS organisations as first line of support to answer data enquiries

Thomas is responsible for the design of resources including bulletins and the newsletter, and will be managing Subscriber Level Agreements for the new financial year.

Thomas has extensive experience in managing communications at both the customer and executive level. In his short but varied career he has been a teacher, a PA to a Welsh Government adviser, and a support worker for disabled university students.

Tom's has lead responsibility for the website. In addition to supporting users and team members with troubleshooting, he provides intelligence on analytics and SEO in order to continually improve the user experience. Tom joined PrescQIPP after training on an NHS management programme.

Vicky supports a number of key PrescQIPP workstreams; as well as working with Katie Smith to ensure the quality of PrescQIPP resources. Vicky also supports the East of England Priorities Advisory Committee (EoE PAC) and other PrescQIPP workstreams as required.

An experienced pharmaceutical advisor, clinical pharmacist and medical writer, Vicky has extensive clinical, contracting and medicines commissioning experience across the NHS, including primary care and primary care networks, secondary and tertiary care, and over 10 years’ experience in Medicines Information.
