We have commissioned a community paediatric dietetic service for infants with Cow's Milk Protein Allergy.
The service is unique and innovative in providing virtual appointments with a specialist dietician which increases the capacity they can offer as well as providing an improved patient experience. Parents are also supported with advice and guidance via a bespoke Smartphone APP which allows secure transfer of patient information.
After just 3 months we have already experienced a reduction in the waiting time for paediatric dietetic service and a reduction on the demand on secondary care services, we anticipate that prescribing savings through efficient and rationalised prescribing of infant milks will lead to an approximately 3 - 4 times return on investment.
