Medicines Optimisation in Care Homes: BLMK Network and Learning Community (2019)

Bedfordshire CCG on behalf of BLMK ICS

Project Summary

The Care Homes medicines optimisation teams in BLMK ICS have formed a network and learning community with the aim of promoting joint working, providing peer support and improving quality of service.

Following a call for joint working in ICS organisations, our teams identified the potential benefits from collaborative working and proceeded to create a joint workforce.

The network is now benefiting from the sharing of resources, working on projects together and supporting each other with our personal developments. We are already seeing the benefits of improved efficiencies and expect to see a growth in this area as we work on new projects. Ultimately our service users will benefit from an improved quality of service.
