Prescribing dashboard for GP practices (2019)

Project Summary

The Camden CCG prescribing dashboard for GP practices was designed to present local prescribing data and trends, reporting outcomes of our Prescribing Quality Scheme (PQS). The prescribing dashboard:

Ensures GP practices have easily accessible data regarding their prescribing, using a dashboard which has been developed locally and tailored to the needs of our practices and CCG. Local development enabled us to ensure based on extensive local work with practices a tool that would be useable and relevant for them.

Demonstrates the practice and neighbourhood prescribing performance against the PQS 2018-19 which is used in peer review meeting.

Allows practices to view progress towards the targets for the 2018-19 PQS indicators for the current financial year-to-date.

Includes data for practices to benchmark practice performance against baselines.

Benchmarks GP practice performance against other practices in the CCG/neighbourhood.

Outcomes:

Replaced paper based reporting with an accessible, interactive software solution (using Tableau), allowing easy data interpretation and analysis in a user friendly visually appealing format.

All GP practices regularly receive performance data in relation to Camden CCG Prescribing Quality Scheme indicators via the dashboard.
Easily accessible tool for GPs for them to review and measure their prescribing data and use in local and neighbourhood discussions.

GPs are using the dashboard to monitor and analyse their prescribing performance and that of their practice in relation to other practices.
