Partners across West Yorkshire collaborated to develop better information for staff and carers to facilitate discussions around multi-compartment compliance aids (MCCA), and to provide more comprehensive and consistent information to care providers.
By bringing together a wide stakeholder group we have now launched an information leaflet to help carers and staff across the system, an aligned guideline for use across the five local authorities in West Yorkshire on MCCA use and also recorded a podcast, which is available on the Health and Care Partnership website. All resources have been promoted through newsletters, bulletins and social media across all sectors in West Yorkshire.
Finally we have evaluated the impact of the leaflet and found 56% said it had increased their knowledge of options available, 59% said it had increased their confidence in having conversations with parents and carers and similarly 59% of respondents said it had helped them to think differently about how they held conversations with patients.
