On Thursday 12th March we welcomed Emma Bines. Emma is a clinical pharmacist and has worked in the speciality of older people for more than 12 years. She is working in consultant pharmacist post, completing her credentialling through a portfolio.
Emma has a special interest in Parkinson's, completing her prescribing in this field 10 years ago and works closely with the specialist team Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. Emma works as a system pharmacist, collaborating with colleagues in the local ICB, Local Authorities, acute hospitals, partners in the Integrated Neighbourhoods including GP surgeries and community pharmacy, and other community partners to optimise medicines for older people.
Her day-to-day job is varied; delivering falls focused structured medication reviews (SMRs), to developing clinical and operational guidelines to deliver medicines optimisation across the ICS, to complex case management/MDT advice and patient and clinician education.
